Asus announced a new Rog phone was coming, and now they have confirmed that the Asus ROG 2 is ready to launch in July, with one of the big changes is the Rog 2 having a 120hz screen for fluid gaming.
In a post advertising the company’s partnership with Tencent Games, Asus confirmed games such as PlayerUnknown’s BattleGround and several others will take advantage of the new higher refresh rate that the Rog 2 sports.
A 120Hz display will make the Rog 2 the seconde major gaming smartphone since the Razer 2 to sport mobile gaming at 120fps. Other details include the Asus Rog 2 having a more vibrant display with a higher ppi than most other gaming phones, including the Razer Phone 2 and the upcoming BlackShark 2.
Gaming handsets are a niche market but have been growing exponentially in recent years, and with many gamers diving into smartphones as development tools allow for more detailed and complex mobile games, it’s important for companies to focus on making themselves stand out from the crowd.
We don’t know much about the Asus ROG 2 Phone other than its 120Hz screen and the rumored high-fidelity display, but we’re expecting to see demos sent out as we get closer to its release in July.
